M.A.S.K. - better in Black and White or Full Colour?

Many of you who read this Blog and my M.A.S.K. Comics Blog will by now be familiar with the work of Darren Gregson.  Darren runs the Back to the Old Drawing Board Facebook Page and associated Blogspot.

In the lead up to #MASKday, Darren has been hard at work creating some Great images.  First in pencil, he has now added a touch of colour - and class - to some of his images.

Firecracker in Black and White is amazing -

The level of detail is outstanding.  For any of you who collected the toys, will appreciate how accurate this is in comparison, but, at the same time brings "life" to this great vehicle.

This quality of art reminds me of the fantastic B&W strips in the UK M.A.S.K. comic.

In colour, we lose some of the technical aspect of the image, however, it becomes more fluid as we see the recognisable orange of Firecracker.  It's softer and warmer.

We then have a complete image of Vampire flying over it's stable mate, Stinger.  We have action, drama and a background.

Darren has taken one element of this image and coloured it in.

Not quite as "soft" as the image of Firecracker above, however, with the colour palette of Vampire, I don't think it could be.  Again, we lose some of the technical aspect, but that doesn't matter.

What we lose in technicality, we gain in pure awesomeness!!

So, what do you think?  B&W or Colour?  Firecracker or Vampire?  M.A.S.K. or V.E.N.O.M.?

Feel free to leave your comments below or on Darren's Blog or either Facebook Page!
